Along the Millennium Trail between the Whitehorse Dam and the Robert Campbell Bridge is evidence of a family of beavers being hard at work. See the slideshow below.
A regular walker along that path told me they had been busily felling trees during the winter and coming back to take the bark from them. A cursory look did not give any indication of there being a lodge in the vicinity.
I find it interesting that there is some distance between where the trees were dropped and the river. Perhaps these were just the tastiest trees in the vicinity.
I wonder if these furry little workers are part of the family that was displaced in order to put in the Whitehorse Wharf downtown?
