Norm Hamilton, Candidate for City Council A Vision in 75 Words or Less?

The REGULAR POLL will be open from 8:00 a.m. to
8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1 at the following locations:
Polling Divisions and Polling Places
The City has been divided into two polling divisions for the 2011 municipal by-election.
Polling Division 1 is Whitehorse South East.
This includes areas below the escarpment to the
eastern boundary of the municipality and all areas within the municipal
boundaries lying east of the Yukon River, including Marwell, the Quartz Road
area, Downtown, Long Lake Road, Wickstrom Road, Hospital Road, Riverdale,
Schwatka Lake, Robert Service Way, and including both sides of the Alaska
Highway south of Robert Service Way to the municipal boundaries, consisting
primarily of McLean Lake/Squatters Row, Canyon Crescent, Miles Canyon Road,
Mount Sima, McRae, Whitehorse Copper, Pineridge,
Wolf Creek, Spruce Hill, Mary Lake and Cowley Creek.
Voters in Polling Division 1 will vote at the
High Country Inn Ballroom "A" - 4051 Fourth Avenue in the Downtown Area.
Polling Division 2 is Whitehorse North West.
This includes areas primarily above the escarpment
from the north side of Robert Service Way to the western, northern and
north-eastern boundaries of the municipality, including Lobird, Yukon
Gardens, the airport area, Hillcrest, Copper Ridge, Granger, Logan, Ingram,
Arkell, McIntyre, Valleyview, Takhini, the Kopper King
area, Fish Lake Road area, Yukon College, Range Road, Whistle Bend, Porter
Creek, Crestview, the Taylor and Kulan industrial areas, Cousins Airstrip,
Stevens, Forestview, MacPherson, Hidden Valley, and Mile 2 Mayo Road.
Voters in Polling Division 2 will vote at
the Takhini Arena - 345 Range Road, located at the top of Two Mile Hill.
I asked the Returning Officer at the City what
happens if someone is not on the List of Voters and received this response:
“Under the Municipal Act no ID is required. Eligible
electors who are not on the list may register by completing and signing an
oath. If they are willing to swear that they are eligible then no additional
identification is required.”
